In the transition from the interpretation Mesopotamian clay surface of the ocean as Primordial Matter of the Creation and the substance of the sacrifice to his description of rational, scientific, acting element present in nature, composed of hydrated silicates of aluminum with subordinate amounts of magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium and iron you consume a strong prejudice which affected his performance in the written sources and archaeological contexts. From the renunciation of comparative observation of the two levels of reading is in fact often sort the emphasis of the study regarding its mechanical properties, plastics, as if they were the only variables sufficient to distinguish the evolution and differentiation of products. The clay is actually the subject of an archaeological discovery: the discovery of the earth as a raw material of creation. A discovery that, as far as we know, took place in ancient times in many parts of the globe and - today - is repeated almost timeless. In the contemporary age, "age of technology", this discovery is always a complaint. Yes, a real complaint, because clay is not built, and why almost the same architecture in raw disappears, the earth has been replaced cement, and the plasticity of the creative gestures of the hand on the ground was superimposed image manipulation already known , circulating. Today, while those bricks of mud and straw crumble under the wind and the rain, our contemporary battleships because it raises structures remain immortal, that protect us as in a crystal: the cement - let us remember - looks like amber that cages our century.
Nel passaggio dall’interpretazione dell’argilla mesopotamica come superficie dell’Oceano Primordiale, Materia della Creazione e Sostanza del Sacrificio alla sua descrizione razionale, scientifica, in qualità di elemento presente nella natura, composto di silicati idrati di alluminio con quantità subordinate di magnesio, sodio, potassio, calcio e ferro si consuma un forte pregiudizio che ha condizionato la sua interpretazione nelle fonti scritte e nei contesti archeologici. Dalla rinuncia ad un’osservazione comparata dei due piani di lettura è infatti spesso sorta l’enfasi dello studio riguardo le sue proprietà meccaniche, plastiche; come se queste fossero le uniche variabili sufficienti a distinguere l’evolversi e il differenziarsi delle produzioni. L’argilla è invece l’oggetto di una scoperta archeologica: la scoperta della terra come materia della creazione. Una scoperta che, per quanto noto, è avvenuta nell’antichità di molte regioni del globo e – oggi – si ripete quasi senza tempo. Nell’età contemporanea, “età della tecnica”, questa scoperta è sempre una denuncia. Si, una vera denuncia, perché in argilla non si costruisce quasi più e perché la stessa architettura in crudo scompare; alla terra è stato sostituito il cemento, e al plasticismo dei gesti creativi della mano sulla terra si è sovrapposta la manipolazione di immagini già note, circolanti. Oggi, mentre quei mattoni di terra e paglia si sfaldano sotto il vento e la pioggia, la nostra contemporaneità innalza strutture corazzate perché restino immortali, che ci proteggano come in un cristallo: il cemento – ricordiamocelo – somiglia ad un’ambra che ingabbia il nostro secolo.
