Stagonospora nodorum blotch (SNB) is an important wheat disease caused by Phaeosphaeria nodorum (anamorph Stagonospora nodorum). This necrotrophic pathogen can attack common and durum wheat, causing grain yield, quality and safety reduction. The fungus occurs in major wheat-growing areas throughout the world, and an increase of SNB has been observed in recent years in Italy. The aim of this preliminary study was to develop novel diagnostic techniques (molecular and hyperspectral imaging analyses) for early detection of S. nodorum attack and infection progression on durum wheat.

Abstract
Stagonospora nodorum blotch (SNB) is an important wheat disease caused by Phaeosphaeria nodorum (anamorph Stagonospora nodorum). This necrotrophic pathogen can attack common and durum wheat, causing grain yield, quality and safety reduction. The fungus occurs in major wheat-growing areas throughout the world, and an increase of SNB has been observed in recent years in Italy. The aim of this preliminary study was to develop novel diagnostic techniques (molecular and hyperspectral imaging analyses) for early detection of S. nodorum attack and infection progression on durum wheat.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
