Bayesian analysis can be used to estimate the mortality profiles of animals in particular in paleoarchaeology. With respect to other methods it has the advantage that it can exploit al the information present in the data including different kinds of bones from animals of all groups of age. Moreover it can incorporate the previous knowledge and evaluation experts. The method is compared with other existing methods for estimating mortality profiles of animal populations.

Abstract
Bayesian analysis can be used to estimate the mortality profiles of animals in particular in paleoarchaeology. With respect to other methods it has the advantage that it can exploit al the information present in the data including different kinds of bones from animals of all groups of age. Moreover it can incorporate the previous knowledge and evaluation experts.
