We use a particular class of functions obtained by translation and dilation of a refinable function, to numerically solve an initial value differential problem by a semidiscrete Galerkin method. Since their generate a Multiresolution analysis, the numerical solution satisfies very good properties of approxiamtion (error estimations).

Abstract
