The actual source area of a bending magnet emitting in the infrared range, has been calculated for the double annular Φ-factory for nice experiments (DAΦNE) under construction at Frascati. ''Geometrical'' broadening has been included. The actual brilliance ratio defined as the ratio between the brilliance of a synchrotron source and that of a blackbody, has been also evaluated for DAΦNE and compared with the Brookhaven NSLS source. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.
