Ethics of commitment, resposibility and mutual respect are the main rules of medical tyeacher behaviour and medical profession. In addition, medical education should be founded on the respect for individual freedom, beneficence and distributive justice, incorporating all values of professionalism as a core physician competence. At present, as a result of changes in patients' expectations, health care delivery, medical knowledge and students' requirements, ethical issues beyond medical education need to be discussed in great detail. The present paper deals with the necessity of ethics for medical educators founded on relationships amongst individuals, rules, regulations, values and cultural influences. It discusses topics as a result of four work-discussion groups, regarding ethics of teaching, student assessment,teacher-student-patient relationship as well as undergraduate curriculum planning and development. In addition, the present paper introduces a series of forthcoming studies on this matter
