In this paper a hierarchical description of a Hospital Information System is presented and the feasibility o a fully integrated infomation system at a laboratory level is discussed. The key idea to achieve this goal is the use of a common hardware development platform based on an inexpensive pC. The set of clinical examinations developed comprises: automatic Visual Field, Chromatic Visual Field, Visual evoked potentials, Photostress VEP, Flicker test.
