Conventional brain maps suffer from severe limitations due to both spatial blur of potential distributions and to the dependence on electrical reference. Surface Laplacian has been used to deblurr ERP since it acts as an high-pass spatial filter that reduces the head volume conductor effects and eliminates the influence of electrical reference activity.. Single sweep SNR can be improved by Autoregressive with exogenous input (ARX) modelling.
