Abstract
A re-appraisal of the murals found in the Buddhist site of Miran (Xinjiang), traditionally considered as evidence of the Gandharan painting and dated to the 3rd-4th centuries CE. A closer iconographic analysis of the subjects reveals an unnoticed link with the painting of Ajanta (end of the 5th century), thus inviting to reconsider the chronology of the Miran paintings.File allegati a questo prodotto
