Long-lasting facial palsy is frequently consequence of iatrogenic causes. One of the most important ocular complications is lagophthalmos that leads to corneal drying and ulceration. Static techniques are indicated to obtain eyelid's competency in elderly patients with general problems associated, in patients refusing major procedures and in the ones undergone dynamic procedures with unsatisfactory results. The authors describe the use of conchal cartilage and fascia lata graft in five patients. In all the patients an adequate eyelid closure, the resolution of keratitis related symptoms and a satisfactory aesthetic outcome were achieved.
