The 125-IC1q Binding Assay was performed on 36 sera from patients with lung carcinoma not previously treated, and C.I.C were found in 39%. Particularly the test was found to be positive in 2 out of 9 Ist stage patients (22%), in 1 out of 3 IInd stage patients (33%), in 11 out of 24 IIIrd stage patients (45,8%) and in 3 out of 4 patients bearing metastases (M1) (75%). C>I>C> were found in 9 of the 19 patients with histological diagnosis of epidermoid carcinoma (47.3%), in 1 of the 3 patients with adenocarcinoma (25%), in 3 of the 4 patients with anaplastic carcinoma (42.8%) and in 1 of the 6 patients with oat cell carcinoma. Present results are of some interest, especially in advanced stages of disease. The statistical dimensions of this work, though, do not allow us to draw definitive conclusions on clinical value of C.I.C. Binding Assay in prognosis evaluation of patients with lung cancer
