The paper describes a new class of "Rome" high voltage addressing modes, which combine the advantages of the already published high speed "Superfast" and "Malvern" modes. The new modes have been derived from our simple dynamic model for SSFLC addressing and have been experimentally confirmed for low-medium Ps liquid crystals. The same line addressing times as before are now obtained in wider regions of operation and for lower selection voltages. Moreover they can include compensation techniques to futherly enlarge their regions of operation.

Abstract

The paper describes a new class of "Rome" high voltage addressing modes, which combine the advantages of the already published high speed "Superfast" and "Malvern" modes. The new modes have been derived from our simple dynamic model for SSFLC addressing and have been experimentally confirmed for low-medium Ps liquid crystals. The same line addressing times as before are now obtained in wider regions of operation and for lower selection voltages. Moreover they can include compensation techniques to futherly enlarge their regions of operation.
