The 13C NMR spectra of isotactic poly[(S)-4-methyl-1-hexene] [26680-37-5], isotactic poly[(R)-4-methyl-1-hexene] [56781-40-9], and isotactic poly[(R),(S)-4-methyl-1-hexene] [33409-74-4] prepd. by Ziegler-Natta catalysis were discussed. Polymer fractions with different stereoregularities and mol. wts. and derived from monomers with high optical purity had in their spectra differences which were attributed to conformational effects. Stereoselectivity was obsd. in polymers from the racemic monomer.
