GCTs are relatively uncommon benign tumors, often multifocal and potentially associated with other primary malignant tumors. Less than 50 malignant GCTs have been reported up to now, thus suggesting the potential aggressiveness of this lesion, which in any case may recur after surgical resection. Treatment should be individualized according to the characteristics of the tumor and its location. Endoscopic resection can be curative for most of tracheobronchial and esophageal GCTs whereas chest wall and mediastinal GCTs require extensive surgical resection.

Abstract
GCTs are relatively uncommon benign tumors, often multifocal and potentially associated with other primary malignant tumors. Less than 50 malignant GCTs have been reported up to now, thus suggesting the potential aggressiveness of this lesion, which in any case may recur after surgical resection. Treatment should be individualized according to the characteristics of the tumor and its location. Endoscopic resection can be curative for most of tracheobronchial and esophageal GCTs whereas chest wall and mediastinal GCTs require extensive surgical resection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
