The cation [Pt(η2-C2H4)Cl(tmen)]+ (I; tmen = Me2NCH2CH2NMe2) reacts with water and alc. under basic conditions (KOH) to give nucleophilic addn. of hydroxide and alkoxide anions to ethylene and formation of [Pt(CH2CH2OH)Cl(tmen)] (II) and [Pt(CH2CH2OR)Cl(tmen)] (III; R = Me, Et), resp. II, either in soln. or in the solid, undergoes a condensation reaction with formation of [(tmen)ClPt(CH2CH2OCH2CH2)PtCl(tmen)]. I also reacts with excess acetate in H2O to give the ester complex [Pt[CH2CH2OC(O)Me]Cl(tmen)] which in the solid state slowly dissocs. to acetate anion and cation I, redissoln. in CHCl3 restoring the original species. Abstract
III was formed when other compds. were dissolved in MeOH.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
