José Cardoso Pires (1925-1998) had a strong attitude to rewrite his works. It does not escape the anti-Salazar satire entitled Dinossauro Excelkentíssimo, which has two published versions, so rich in variants to configure a case of 'total rewrite' of the text. The comparison between the two versions allows us to get into the workshop of the writer and understand his approach and his attitude towards writing, seen as a constant work in progress. The comparison also provides a striking example of a literary work considered as an object in time, as a journey and exploration of different possibilities and parallel realities offered by the literature.

Abstract
José Cardoso Pires (1925-1998) had a strong attitude to rewrite his works. It does not escape the anti-Salazar satire entitled Dinossauro Excelkentíssimo, which has two published versions, so rich in variants to configure a case of 'total rewrite' of the text. The comparison between the two versions allows us to get into the workshop of the writer and understand his approach and his attitude towards writing, seen as a constant work in progress. The comparison also provides a striking example of a literary work considered as an object in time, as a journey and exploration of different possibilities and parallel realities offered by the literature.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
