Experimental X-ray scattering (elastic) cross sections for platinum were measured in the momentum transfer region 1.3175 ħÅ-1 ≤ q ≤ 2.0448 ħÅ-1. Experimental results are compared with recent theoretical estimates based on S-matrix approach and a combination of relativistic (RFF) and relativistic modified form factors (RMF) with angle independent anomalous scattering factors (ASF's). Experimental results are in excellent agreement with S-matrix calculations and values based on simple approaches.
