In this papers Authors present an intervention method called “Family Time Sculptures”, based on the use of analogical language in the therapeutic work with families. First the reasons of this choice are defined: the exploration of family myths, in the frame of the systemic psychotherapy epistemological developments; the tuning with the language of the symptom, particularly if it is expressed by the body; the recent neuroscientific discoveries. The method of “Family Time Sculptures” is after described: it consist in proposing to each family member three sculptures, of the “present”, the “future” and the “past”, allowing the family, through the sculptures, sequence to construct a real “analogical narrative”: it not only allows the family to reveal to the therapist and to itself, but also mobilize creative resources and activate a form of “self-therapy”. The therapist is continuously involved in the process and participates to the “narrative construction” with a reframing which, taking again the metaphors proposed by the family, gives to the symptom itself the meaning of a metaphor of the entire family distress. A clinical case is then presented to better illustrate the method. Finally Authors describe the therapeutic process structure and propose some considerations about the importance of always linking aesthetics with ethics of psychotherapy which consists in respecting the human reality complexity and recognizing its autonomous resources of changing and evolving.

Abstract
Finally Authors describe the therapeutic process structure and propose some considerations about the importance of always linking aesthetics with ethics of psychotherapy which consists in respecting the human reality complexity and recognizing its autonomous resources of changing and evolving.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
