In this paper the authors present an intervention method called "Family Time Sculptures", based on the use of analogical language in the therapeutic work with families. They describe first the interest of this tool to explore family myths, with respect to the tuning with the language of the symptom, if it is expressed by the body and they underline its link with the recent neuroscientific discoveries. They describe than the method of "Family Time Sculptures" consisting in asking each family member to build three sculptures: of the "present", the "future" and the "past", allowing the family to construct an "analogical narrative" of its history. A clinical case is then presented to better illustrate the method.

Abstract
In this paper the authors present an intervention method called "Family Time Sculptures", based on the use of analogical language in the therapeutic work with families. They describe first the interest of this tool to explore family myths, with respect to the tuning with the language of the symptom, if it is expressed by the body and they underline its link with the recent neuroscientific discoveries. They describe than the method of "Family Time Sculptures" consisting in asking each family member to build three sculptures: of the "present", the "future" and the "past", allowing the family to construct an "analogical narrative" of its history. A clinical case is then presented to better illustrate the method.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
