A venticinque anni dall'istituzione del dottorato

The ninth meeting of the PhD Network falls to twenty-five years after the establishment of the PhD , including those in urban design and planning . A time frame that allows and requires a reflection on the evolution of the PhD as an institution and , specifically ,on the doctoral programs in urban design and planning . A reflection on the critical issues of the moment for a structure created "light" in terms of organization , management and recognition of the work of teachers and therefore particularly fragile because it reflects the heavy restructuring of the university , the weaknesses and rigidity of the PhD as a training model , the specific problems of our disciplinary field inside and outside the university . Faced with these challenges, it is important that the graduate students and young doctors remind us that the answer can not be just another reform of the training model but the realization that there are actors who are discussing the problem of the future , who build a space

Il IX convegno delle Rete Interdottorato cade a venticinque anni dall’istituzione del dottorato di ricerca, tra cui quelli in urbanistica e pianificazione. Un arco di tempo importante che consente e richiede una riflessione sull’evoluzione del dottorato di ricerca come istituzione e, specifica, sui dottorati in urbanistica e pianificazione. Una riflessione sulla criticità del momento per una struttura nata “leggera” all’interno dell’ordinamento universitario in termini organizzativi, gestionali e di riconoscimento del lavoro dei docenti e dunque particolarmente fragile perché risente contemporaneamente della pesante ristrutturazione dell’università, delle debolezze e delle rigidità del dottorato di ricerca come modello formativo, delle problematiche specifiche del nostro ambito disciplinare dentro e fuori l’università. Di fronte a queste criticità, è importante che i dottorandi e i giovani dottori ci ricordino che la risposta non può essere solo l’ennesima riforma del modello formativo bensì la presa d’atto che esistono attori protagonisti che si pongono il problema del futuro, che costruiscono uno spazio di dibattito e di confronto sui temi della ricerca in urbanistica e pianificazione, che esiste un insieme di risorse intellettuali che producono pensiero e che vogliono dialogare con la città e il territorio.
