The present study tested the posited structural path of influence through which values operate on violent behaviours through the mediation of moral disengagement. 238 males e 310 females, aged 21 years participated to this study. Males resulted higher than females in self-enhancement values, moral disengagement and violent behaviour. Females, resulted higher than males on self-transcendence values. As predicted, self-transcendent values resulted associated with lower level of moral disengagement and with lower level of violent behaviour in males. Self-enhancement values resulted associated to higher level of moral disengagement only in males. Indirect effect of values on violent behaviours were detected only for self-transcendent values.

Abstract
The present study tested the posited structural path of influence through which values operate on violent behaviours through the mediation of moral disengagement. 238 males e 310 females, aged 21 years participated to this study. Males resulted higher than females in self-enhancement values, moral disengagement and violent behaviour. Females, resulted higher than males on self-transcendence values. As predicted, self-transcendent values resulted associated with lower level of moral disengagement and with lower level of violent behaviour in males. Self-enhancement values resulted associated to higher level of moral disengagement only in males. Indirect effect of values on violent behaviours were detected only for self-transcendent values.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
