The article investigates the Bohemian and Central European workshops active in two volumes of a Gradual produced in Avignon under the patronage of cardinal Pietro Corsini, ca. 1405. The two ateliers are excellent examples of the international milieu established in Avignon during the Schism, which led to an important and long-forgotten late gothic production, which turned the papal court in a centre paragonabile alle princely courts in Northern Europe
L’articolo è incentrato su due botteghe di miniatori, di cultura boema e centro europea, attive nei due volumi del Graduale commissionato ad Avignone dal cardinale Pietro Corsini, intorno al 1405. I due ateliers testimoniano l’ambiente internazionale che caratterizzava la città papale durante lo Scisma; tale contesto suscitò un’importante e a lungo dimenticata fase tardo-gotica della miniatura avignonese, che trasformò la curia in un centro paragonabile alle corti principesche dell’Europa settentrionale
