Il progetto ecoscambio per la prevenzione e il recupero dei rifiuti nel comune di Follonica

During last times man has forgotten the existing tie between produced waste and natural resources where they originate from. The residuals of our products are not biodegradable, they do not become resource again and they are accumulated in spaces often altered by them. Currently, urban waste are more and more increasing, reaching, therefore, high and worrying levels and making worse their management. Today, a part of what we discard and decide to throw away could become a “non waste”. The Ecoscambio plan, an experimental innovative service, one of first in Italy, was born in the commune of Follonica, and gives the chance, to citizens and to the owners of a house, to exchange objects still in good conditions, otherwise destined to increase the quantitative of produced waste. The Ecoscambio plan, that puts into effect the article n. 3 “Prevention of the production of waste” and article n. 4 “Recovery of waste” of the Decree Law n. 22/97, is the tool that allows citizens to lower waste with an intervention before their production and their management, therefore reducing environmental and economical inconvenience to the community. Ecoscambio project is an original union with high participation potentialities, offering, at last, to citizens the chance to directly contribute to the activity of environment prevention and allowing to lower waste before their production.
