Review of the very useful edition of one of the most significant "Seniles" (V 2), in which Petrarch reproached Boccaccio for having burned (as he had heard) his vulgar rhymes, and at the same time expressed relevant evaluations about the already started constitution of the canon of the "three crowns", on the role of the jesters in the fruition of the vulgar poetic texts, and on other aspects related to his activity as a rhymer.

Recensione di dell'utilissima edizione di una delle Senili più significative, quella seconda epistola del quinto libro in cui Petrarca rimproverò Boccaccio per aver dato alle fiamme (come gli era giunta notizia) le sue rime volgari, e contestualmente espresse rilevanti valutazioni circa la già avviata costituzione del canone delle “tre corone”, sul ruolo dei giullari nella fruizione dei testi poetici volgari, e su altri aspetti relativi alla propria attività di rimatore.
