The author reviews the major trends inspiring Intellectual Property today that are strictly connected with the European Directive 29/2001/UE. It mainly consists of the draft review of the second book of the French Civil Code and the European Copyright Code Draft recently issued. The two projects bring to the fore the old-time aspects that had been identified yet never solved in the past: Intellectual Property and Property Rights and the relationship between droit d’auteur and Copyright identified through the search for their common European roots and the current common perspectives. The most important question proved to be that of ascertaining whether multilateral protection will be still in place, in the near future.
