Some remains of the large-sized deer Arvernoceros discovered in the sites of Madonna della Strada and Selvella (late Early Pleistocene, central Italy) are described. The remains show morphological and morphometrical characters comparable with the species A. giulii and are quite different from the other Early Pleistocene large-sized deer. These records represent the first occurrence of the genus Arvernoceros in Italy.
