Abstract
B. Ramazzini showed the relationship between the properties of the atmosphere and the onset of specific pathologies, stating the idea of prevention as the main strategy of modern medicine. His scientific theories and his notion of medicine as a science devoted to the health of the entire population have been developed in the medical literature of the XVIII century, mainly by the authors of medical instructions and of public medicine projects, including S.A. Tissot, named “Swiss Hippocrates”, and author of texts on medical prevention with a large European diffusion.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
