This article analyses the characteristics of the Roman Church at the end of the 1st Century, by studying the so called First letter of Clement to the Corinthians. Being deeply inherent to the tradition of Jewish thought, this letter proposes an interpretation of the Christian message that maintains continuity with the faith of Israel, by attempting to heal previous internal conflicts between the Jews of Rome, among which there were Jesus’ followers.
