Abstract
Tokyo is a forest: the details are coherent, the aggregate chaotic. And the forest is populated by tribes: each with an own style. The tribes of Tokyo, the urban groups that populate the city, wear a code that tells a story at first glance: about the way they think, about their activities, their social class. Total white, optical, flower, teen, vintage, are some themes characterizing the youths of Tokyo, who walk through the metropolis. If many Japanese felt they had to conform to certain stereotypes before the economic bubble burst in 1992, such as building their own home in the suburb, having a steady job and children, the recession has changed all that. Today people can decide to spend their money for things they consider truly worthwhile for their own lives. And these demands are met by a new generation of architects.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
