The haemolytic activity and pore forming activity on artificial membranes was evaluted for syringomycin SR, its deschloro analogue SRH and its linear form (obtained by hydrolysis of the lactone macrocyle). The deschloro derivative showed a considerable decrease in the activity, while the linear form was inactive.
