In this paper an integrated approach to the planning of the educational activities at the higher levels of the technical education is presented. For this purpose, many aspects of the educational process are examined. Orientation, Didactical Strategies, and Testing are firstly discussed as activities that can not be disregarded from the educational process. Then, the importance of the mutual influences between Society, Industry, and University is put in evidence. Finally, the experience collected during the last years at the Italian Course of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Rome, La Sapienza is reported, together with some proposal.
