The paper reports a method for estimating kinematic accuracy in precision gear trains. The method can be applied both to ordinary and epicyclic arrangements. The analysis equations herein deduced suggests a sensitive index which allow to detect the infulence of the gear ratios and the kinematic structure on the kinematic errors.
