The site identified as "Pozzo del Merro" (Well of the “Merro”) according some authors is a “Cenote”, according to others is a carsic flooded deep, because they consider “Cenote” only a hollow of a certain wideness. In both cases the site, with its 392 meters of deepness, is the deepest carsic flooded hollow in the world; obviously between those already measured. The site, despite its proximity to the city of Rome, it is not very notorious and till now an actual geomatic survey was never performed so also a geomorphologic study was impossible. Earlier surveys with integrated topographical techniques allowed to measure the coordinates of some spot points but the deep coverage of trees and bushes and the complex morphology of the inner of the well suggested a terrestrial LIDAR survey. Such survey will allow the geomorphologic study for the scientific community and its "virtual visit" from the public of a site otherwise inaccessible. The Well of the Merro area is protected, because it’s in the area of provincial wildlife park of “Macchia di Gattaceca” and “Macchia di Barco”, founded with Region Lazio law no. 22/97. It’s protection is under the responsibility of the Provincial administration of Rome.

Abstract
22/97. It’s protection is under the responsibility of the Provincial administration of Rome.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
