Twenty pregnancies in eighteen women with ITP were observed by us from 1978 to 1983. We present our experience on pregnancy and delivery of ITP patients at risk of generating thrombocytopenic babies. Determination of maternal platelet autoantibodies (PAIgG and S-PBIgG) was performed at the end of pregnancy and PAIgG were tested in the newborns. Evaluation of antiplatelet antibodies in the mothers can be considered important in the choice of management of delivery so as to avoid the risk associated with neonatal thrombocytopenia.

Abstract
Twenty pregnancies in eighteen women with ITP were observed by us from 1978 to 1983. We present our experience on pregnancy and delivery of ITP patients at risk of generating thrombocytopenic babies. Determination of maternal platelet autoantibodies (PAIgG and S-PBIgG) was performed at the end of pregnancy and PAIgG were tested in the newborns. Evaluation of antiplatelet antibodies in the mothers can be considered important in the choice of management of delivery so as to avoid the risk associated with neonatal thrombocytopenia.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
