Introduzione. Gli ebrei nell'Italia unita: tra storia e storiografia

This issue of “La Rassegna mensile di Israel” is dedicated to the history of the Jews in Italy after the unification of the Peninsula in 1861. The introduction outlines the various points of view of the essays collected in the book. It confronts also the main problems of the Italian Jewish historical experience in connection with the most relevant events of the Italian history in the same period. Attention is paid to the historiographic debate on this subject.

Il saggio introduce il numero speciale de “La Rassegna mensile di Israel” dedicato alla storia degli ebrei in Italia nei centocinquanta anni di vita unitaria. Esso inquadra i saggi raccolti; illustra e discute la scelta di analizzare le vicende interne all'ebraismo italiano in stretto rapporto con i grandi nodi della storia del paese nello stesso periodo; presta attenzione ai caratteri del dibattito storiografico sull'argomento.
