Our data indicate that the stimulatory effect of TSH and cAMP on the proliferative response of FRTL5 rat thyroid cells is associated with an increase in the steady state levels of c-Ha-ras mRNA levels. Whether or not there is a cause and effect relationship between these two phenomena is uncertain at the present time and requires further investigation.
