Abstract
Multimodal interfacesarecharacterizedbythe(possi- bly simultaneous)useofmultiplehumansensorymod- alities andcansupportcombinedinput/outputmodes. Modern multimodalinterfacesaimatemulatingthe naturalmulti-sensorialformsofhuman–humandialogue, relyingontheintegrationofadvancedinteractionmodes, rangingfrompen-basedinput,tohandgestures,toeye gaze, tohead/bodymovements,tohapticinput/output.
