The triad of sexual precocity, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia, and cutaneous pigmentation is known as McCune-Albright syndrome. Recently, additional endocrinologic disorders have been described as part of this syndrome, including hyperthyroidism, acromegalt, hyperparathyroidism, and Cushing syndrome. The cause of the syndrome is still unknown; central or peripheral origin of the sexual precocity and of the endocrinologic abnormalities has been postulated. We report a girl with Mc-Cune-Albright syndrome in whom there is evidence that sexual precocity and hyperthyroidism result from the autonomous acitvity of ovaries and thyroid gland.

Abstract
The triad of sexual precocity, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia, and cutaneous pigmentation is known as McCune-Albright syndrome. Recently, additional endocrinologic disorders have been described as part of this syndrome, including hyperthyroidism, acromegalt, hyperparathyroidism, and Cushing syndrome. The cause of the syndrome is still unknown; central or peripheral origin of the sexual precocity and of the endocrinologic abnormalities has been postulated. We report a girl with Mc-Cune-Albright syndrome in whom there is evidence that sexual precocity and hyperthyroidism result from the autonomous acitvity of ovaries and thyroid gland.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
