This work reports an experimental investigation on the crystal growth of dextrose monohydrate from aqueous solutions, in presence of maltose and maltotriose, as impurities. Batch growth experiments showed a progressive decrease of the linear crystal growth along both the first and the second dimension of the plate like crystals. This behavior was attributed to the progressive adsorption of the impurities over the crystal surfaces. Accordingly, the obtained results were interpreted on the basis of the unsteady state adsorption model proposed by Kubota.

Abstract
This work reports an experimental investigation on the crystal growth of dextrose monohydrate from aqueous solutions, in presence of maltose and maltotriose, as impurities. Batch growth experiments showed a progressive decrease of the linear crystal growth along both the first and the second dimension of the plate like crystals. This behavior was attributed to the progressive adsorption of the impurities over the crystal surfaces. Accordingly, the obtained results were interpreted on the basis of the unsteady state adsorption model proposed by Kubota.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
