A physical model to describe the cooling batch crystallization of brittle materials is proposed. The developed model takes into account both primary and secondary nucleation and allows the simulation of seeded operations as well as unseeded ones. The crystal growth rate was described using two different approaches: their performance were confronted with experimental results.
