Materials surface characteristics can be investigated analyzing their spectral response when properly energized by a suitable source. When the energizing source is represented by a light spectra of known characteristics the surface material response can thus be evaluated adopting an hyperspectral imaging based approach. The analyses of the detected spectra can give useful information concerning the investigated material characteristics. The study was addressed to investigate the possibility to apply "real time spectrometry" techniques to perform fast and reliable analysis to identify and quantify specific fluff characteristics in order to define innovative contaminants detection strategies. The proposed approach for its flexibility, could be profitably utilized also for other applications in the field of solid waste recycling.

Abstract
Materials surface characteristics can be investigated analyzing their spectral response when properly energized by a suitable source. When the energizing source is represented by a light spectra of known characteristics the surface material response can thus be evaluated adopting an hyperspectral imaging based approach. The analyses of the detected spectra can give useful information concerning the investigated material characteristics. The study was addressed to investigate the possibility to apply "real time spectrometry" techniques to perform fast and reliable analysis to identify and quantify specific fluff characteristics in order to define innovative contaminants detection strategies. The proposed approach for its flexibility, could be profitably utilized also for other applications in the field of solid waste recycling.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
