The Organizing Committee of CHoPS'05 invested many efforts in bringing together researchers, engineers and industrialists, from all over the world that are active in the areas of conveying and handling of particulate solids. This doing produced a comprehensive scientific program that incorporates plenary lectures and technical paper presentations. More than 200 papers from 31 countries have been presented in 4 parallel oral sessions and a daily comprehensive poster session. The conference includes innovative papers on: pneumatic and slurry conveying, fluidized beds, processes, such as: drying, segregation, mixing, size enlargement, compaction and size reduction, flow of powders, storage, mechanical conveyors, environmental aspects, DEM simulations, modeling, tomography and Nano technology. The conference also presented 15 invited lectures presented by world experts: Henri Berthiaux (France), Reg Davies (USA), Gilead Fortuna (Israel), Mojtaba Ghadiri (UK) Masayuki Horio (Japan), Mike Hounslow (UK), Mark G. Jones (Australia), Gabriel Lodewijks (Netherlands), Stefan Luding (Netherlands), Wolfgang Peukert (Germany), Virendra Puri (USA), Peter Rem (Netherlands), Gabriel Tardos (USA), Richard Williams (UK) and Ingfrid Zimmermann (Germany).
