n this short communication the authors discuss the molecular structure of isotactic PMMA in the light of recently published statement by Japanese researchers that this structure consists of two essentially trans-chains forming a double helix. A brief argument against this state is concluded with an opinion that the structure of isotactic PMMA should be regarded as an open problem.
