The two German tenses present simple morgen arbeite ich vs. future simple morgen werde ich arbeiten are interpreted as two different cognitive conceptualizations for expressing futurity and reduced to the basic opposition of proximity/present vs. distance/future along five dimensions: temporal in a strict sense (immediateness), aspectual (continuity), modal (probability, programmability, feasibility), informational (directness of source) and communicational/situational dimension (closeness of participants of communication).
