This paper presents a co-simulation based methodology combining Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with time domain analysis aimed at the performance evaluation of sensorless control strategies for AC motor drives. In the paper the tool is used to compare various sensorless techniques, based on additional high frequency injection signals, implemented on an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) drive. The behaviour of the tested methods at different load and injection conditions is investigated. ©2010 IEEE.

Abstract

This paper presents a co-simulation based methodology combining Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with time domain analysis aimed at the performance evaluation of sensorless control strategies for AC motor drives. In the paper the tool is used to compare various sensorless techniques, based on additional high frequency injection signals, implemented on an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) drive. The behaviour of the tested methods at different load and injection conditions is investigated. ©2010 IEEE.
