An anal. of min.-size oligonucleotides assocns. capable of stabilizing the cruciform structure (corresponding to the core of the DNA hairpins) and suitable for x-ray single crystal structure detn. is reported. The conformational anal., carried out by energy minimization and van der Waals potential functions, suggests a structure rather similar to that found in a fragment of tRNA, where H bonds and base pair stacking are maximized.

Abstract
An anal. of min.-size oligonucleotides assocns. capable of stabilizing the cruciform structure (corresponding to the core of the DNA hairpins) and suitable for x-ray single crystal structure detn. is reported. The conformational anal., carried out by energy minimization and van der Waals potential functions, suggests a structure rather similar to that found in a fragment of tRNA, where H bonds and base pair stacking are maximized.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
