Abstract

Max Weber can be considered the main scholar , one of the fathers of sociology , the concept of the theoretical and historical expressions of the concept of power in human societies . The notorious systematization in the three " ideal types " the recognition and exercise of power , providing a frame of reference in historical- comparative conducted by the sociologist , has prompted the same author also consider other dynamics of legitimacy and attribution of power that , in specific historical realities , they assumed dignity. It is not many exceptions, but only one expression of power, abnormal than those referring to the three ideal types , Weber identified in the municipal city of the Middle Ages , which, to the decline of imperial power and than that of the Church, took to self-organize militarily and administratively . Drawing from a philological reconstruction of the definition of this power as " not legitimate " , it will attempt to use this " ideal type " of Weber much less known to interpret the dynamics of power in the city contemporary art. The latter , despite the historical and cultural diversity from the medieval , seems to be more in the fourth Weberian ideal type , compared to the three best known, the sociological explanation to its internal processes global , multi-ethnic , self-determined . After a definition of " non- legitimate power " in the reconstruction that have made scholars from the writings of Weber, the essay will attempt a sociological reading of the exercise of power in contemporary society according to the fourth " ideal type " of Weber and profilerà construction one-fifth of the Weberian ideal type , using the historical- descriptive German sociologist interpretation of some specific processes legitimation of power shall ensure that in contemporary society.
