Shanghai forever

The exhibition pavilions that have a place in our ‘collective memory’ are those that acted like genuine ‘design objects’ and symbols of an era and culture. They gave a fresh view of the countries that they represented, innovating with typology and technology and often having their status changed from ‘temporary’ to ‘permanent’. However, it seems that none of the past World’s Fairs can compare to the one currently underway in Shanghai, China (1 May - 31 October 2010), at least in terms of the truly breathtaking numbers

I padiglioni espositivi della nostra “memoria collettiva” sono quelli che, come veri e propri “oggettidi design” e totem simbolo di un’epoca e di una civiltà, sono stati in grado di interpretare in maniera nuova i Paesi che andavano a rappresentare, innovando tipologie e tecnologie, e trasformandosi molto spesso da temporanei in permanenti. Nessuna esposizione universale sembra però essere paragonabile a quella che si sta svolgendo a Shanghai, in Cina (1 maggio - 31 ottobre 2010), quanto meno per i numeri che sono davvero imponenti.
