The present work deals with a passive isolation system with nonlinear hysteretic be- haviour for the vibration control of acceleration sensitive equipment. The problem of formulating a constitutive relationship for the system is first addressed resorting to an integrable model derived from the analytical Duhem hysteresis operator. An optimal design methodology is then specifically developed to account for both the reduction of the equipment acceleration response and the maxi- mization of a properly defined energy performance index.

Abstract
The present work deals with a passive isolation system with nonlinear hysteretic be- haviour for the vibration control of acceleration sensitive equipment. The problem of formulating a constitutive relationship for the system is first addressed resorting to an integrable model derived from the analytical Duhem hysteresis operator. An optimal design methodology is then specifically developed to account for both the reduction of the equipment acceleration response and the maxi- mization of a properly defined energy performance index.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
