In this paper a hybrid stand alone energy system for telecom applications in minor islands is presented. Simulation models have been developed to verify the system performance under different scenarios using practical load profile and meteorological data for the island of Ventotene in Italy. Simulation results are given and discussed for both winter and summer scenarios. The results show that the developed overall power management strategy is effective and the power flow among the different energy sources and the load demand is successfully balanced. ©2010 IEEE.

Abstract
In this paper a hybrid stand alone energy system for telecom applications in minor islands is presented. Simulation models have been developed to verify the system performance under different scenarios using practical load profile and meteorological data for the island of Ventotene in Italy. Simulation results are given and discussed for both winter and summer scenarios. The results show that the developed overall power management strategy is effective and the power flow among the different energy sources and the load demand is successfully balanced. ©2010 IEEE.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
